The road to Nha Trang

As we set off from Dalat, we thought that the journey to Nha Trang would be as bad as the previous one: horrible road condition, the bike falling apart, well: we were wrong!

Yes Ladies and Gentlemen, the road to Nha Trang was beautiful! But we were glad we were not going the other way around. Want an explanation? Check out the view from the top of the hill:IMG_5720

Easy to say: the view was maybe gorgeous, the road beautiful, but I was quite scared: what if, as usual, 2 buses would try to pass eachother leaving us with no space on the road? There was nothing on our side but a long fall to our death.

Thankfully the road was empty and Robb is a far better driver than you will think (well, driving for 6month on a bike in India requires some “cojones” doesn’t it?). So we just enjoyed the ride, the empty road, the landscape, the (more or less) smooth road.

So, what about you guys? Any “scary but beautiful” road experience?

  1. I’m heading from Nha Trang to Da Lat in December and assuming that they take the same route, I’m pretty excited after seeing this post!! Thanks for sharing – gorgeous photos! 🙂

    • Oh well, I think it will be the same route, are you going by bus or with your own motorbike? That way will be probably quite hard since it’s only going up but I’m sure you’ll have time to enjoy the view! (and for a bus it should be easier!)
I’m sure you’ll enjoy Da Lat, lovely place! If you’ve got any question just contact us, we’ll do our best to help!

      • I’m afraid that we were on a 12 day guided tour from Hanoi to HCMC and we flew from Hoi An to Nha Trang. We therefore missed quite a lot of the country, but did squeeze a lot into our 12 days. We are a pair of retired old codgers and couldn’t handle doing it your way.
